Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) are vital to GP practices to create a health service tailored to the needs of the local community.
Our group meets three or four times each year and reviews information supplied by the practice manager offering suggestions as to how the practice should operate, such as considering opening hours and advising what information should feature on the website.
The PPG welcomes new members. Please contact us if you wish to be join.
At no time are individual patients cases discussed by the group.
My role as chair of the group is to ensure meetings progress efficiently. As well as being chair of this group, I have recently been elected as the lay member representing public and patients on the North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The CCG is responsible for deciding the strategic direction in which health services are commissioned in the area so my role on the PPG at Dr Biswas Surgery will help shape and influence my views on the CCG.
